We are offering piecework for eBay and website book listers in the Edinburgh area (preferably North Edinburgh but can be further afield if you have a car).
The applicant must have:
1. Experience at listing on eBay (and preferably with books, or similar collectables)
2. A car to pick up and drop off items to be listed (New Town area of Edinburgh) . . exception to this is if you live in the north part of Edinburgh as we can drop off and pick up at co-arranged times.
3. Good grammer and punctuation, and a good understanding of layout and content importance of listings.
4. Be reliable and able to list at least 50 books a week (but we're hoping that you'll list 100 or more when you get going!)
A WEE DESCRIPTION OF THE JOB
So we are looking for creative bookish souls who have a good knowledge of books, plus experience of listing on eBay or on similar seller platforms. Your job would be to pick up however many books you think you can list a week, list them, then return them to us the week later.
Listing a book involves photographing the book (between 6-12 photos per book, so you must have a digital camera, or a good camera on your smartphone), entering the full title, subtitle, author, illustrator (if relevant), date of publication, edition or printing, a physical description of the book(hardback, paperback, dust-jacketed, number of pages, is it illustrated etc), price (which will be noted on each book when we give it to you) . . and finally the description of the condition of the book.
We pay by piecework . .. this means we pay a going rate for every book you list for us on eBay or our website. (listing prices on application)
SO HOW MUCH CAN YOU EARN A WEEK LISTING BOOKS FOR US?
As much as you want really, but this will depend on how much time you can devote to this kind off wor,k in and around your day. We understand that people have lots going on, so we're not looking for somebody to work themselves into the ground but rather somebody that has the time to list around 50 books a week or more without feeling stressed about it. We reckon when you get into full swing and get a grip of the formatting of descriptions, as well as the eBay listing requirements for books, you'll no doubt be able to list a book every 10 minutes . . that's 5 an hour with a 10-minute break . . . if you get really good at it then you can up this output to one every 5 -7 minutes . . we are currently paying £3.00 per listing so potentially the right candidates can make between £15-£22 an hour!! Not bad for working at home!!
Each week you simply pickup books, take them home, list them, and then bring them back . . . we also pay £5 for you to pick them up and a further £5 when you drop them off to cover fuel.
