I've owned this girl for 10 years now and it's been loads of fun. I've got rid of my car and need to downsize or I would be getting the work done myself.
The whole front including the engine was upgraded to a 1997 P reg which hasn't caused any problems and in addition to the newer engine it means it has central locking, power steering, airbag and all the other joys of 90s automotive tech. There's probably an immobiliser in there... You can't move the steering wheel till the key's in anyway.
The fuel pump and the brake calipers have been reconditioned.
A trusted mechanic has told me that the fuel injectors need restoring or replacing, there is some welding underneath and a bit of brake love needed. He's quoted me £1k to get it running and MOT worthy. The bodywork needs a bit of attention but nothing major.
The passenger window needs replacing and there is a leak that needs sealing above the side door. The water pump is hardly used and just needs resealing for the water system to work. There's a hot water boiler I've never used. Much fun has been had inside this van so the inside is a little worn but it's pretty ok for 35 years!
4 berth - Double on top of the cab (nice and warm in cold weather) and the seating folds to another double (nice and cool when it's hot). Fully functioning 3 hob gas cooker, grill and oven. Fully functioning 12v electrical system with leisure battery and lights with some LED upgrades. Hookup for 240v with 3 regular plug sockets inside. Hookup will also charge the leisure battery. The relay from the engine might need rewiring. Separate bathroom with a Thetford cassette toilet in the bathroom which conveniently empties from the outside.
Stable style side door which is great for keeping pets and kids in when it's hot. Fantastic use of layout and space, not so big it's hard to park but not so small you're falling over each other, even if there are 4 of you!
The work that needs doing is not actually the reason for selling, I just have too many other things that need repairing! I've got rid of my car so if a camper is going to be my only vehicle, it's got to be smaller. This is quite a reluctant sale, I'm going to be so sad to see her go!
