Working within a growing business with over 25 years of heritage, you will be responsible for building a team for The Apprenticeship Guide brand and lead in the sales, sponsorship and advertising opportunities for clients across our publication and online platform. Reporting to the Head of Sales, you'll be responsible for GBP250'000 of media spend and will be tasked to double the revenue for your brand over a set period with new additions to your team for support. OVERALL OBJECTIVES: Be responsible for managing key business brand and new business prospecting To lead on the development of sales around our marketing and advertising services Develop successful customer relationships and build the influence of your assigned brand Think of new revenue opportunities and build business plan for new developments KEY TASKS: 1. To develop and maintain an in-depth knowledge of the Apprenticeship Guide, it's capabilities and offerings from a sales and business development perspective. 1. To develop an in-depth sector expertise, connections and affinity and to establish an understanding of the landscape; issues; initiatives; priorities within your assigned market. 1. To develop a business development plan, that will deliver annual sales in excess of GBP250,000pa, and manage its implementation. 1. To generate leads for new business through research and contact. 1. To assist in the management of accounts, including preparation and presentation of proposals to senior directors and managers. 1. To ensure that the relationship management activity for accounts is monitored and recorded. In particular, keeping the CRM database up-to-date with accurate and timely information, after each customer contact. 1. To liaise with colleagues internally regarding client liaison and business development opportunities. 1. To identify potential new business development opportunities. 1. To attend industry events as required. 1. To ensure that all stakeholders are kept suitably appraised of relevant sales progress. 1. To maintain accurate sales revenue and business pipeline records and to help formulate business plans as required. 1. Establish productive relationships with key decision-makers Budget Responsibilities: PERSON SPECIFICATION CANDIDATE PROFILE Someone who has significant and recent sales experience is a must. Preferably someone who has experience of selling digital media, publishing and event sponsorship though not essential. The ideal candidate will be someone who shows a professional approach to work demonstrating the highest integrity at all times. The candidate should be able to work on their own initiative and prioritise workflow by maintaining an accurate pipeline. Essential Attributes Experience of devising / implementing business development activities Experience of lead generation and self-prospecting Experience of producing sales proposals Proven success in a sales targeted environment Excellent written and verbal communication skills Email, Telephone, social media and Face to Face communication skills Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and of CRM systems Ability to develop and maintain constructive relationships with current and prospective clients Excellent persuasive, influencing and negotiation skills in a sales situation
