EXTERIOR
Equipped with the desirable factory M Sport Pack this low mileage E39 presents in superb condition throughout, and as a facelift car it's also equipped with automatic Xenon headlights, which in this case are still nice and clear. The bodywork maintains an excellent depth of shine all round following a machine polish by our in-house detailer, the only negatives to report being a few minor chips and a small amount of surface wear to the paint at the top of the nearside front bumper. Having resided on the salt-free roads of Japan since new this low mileage example maintains a remarkably clean underside with absolutely no corrosion issues to report. Over and above the standard M Sport equipment the car additionally boasts rear privacy glass and electric folding door mirrors.
INTERIOR
The anthracite sports seats have worn well with no signs of heavy use to the delicate Alcantara bolsters. The dark fabric is perfectly offset by unmarked aluminum inlays throughout the interior - a welcome choice over the commonly specified walnut veneer. The headlining is also anthracite and maintains an intimate atmosphere within the cabin.

Smaller details such as the gear selector and steering wheel are still nice and fresh with good textures to the leather. The dash, centre console, and switchgear are also free from any notable marking. In the footwells the carpets are spotless having been protected from new by the original BMW overmats. The boot area is also immaculate, still housing the BMW toolkit and 6-disc CD changer.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
The engine bay presents really well and again there's no sign of any corrosion, damage, or previous poor repair to note. Out on the road the 3-litre straight-six is as smooth as ever, and everything feels as tight as a drum with no audible rattles or squeaks. The car has just returned from a full inspection, service, and MOT at the current mileage of 51k.
WHEELS, TYRES AND BRAKES
The E39 sits on the correct 17-inch M Sport alloy wheels in great original condition all round, the only negatives to report here being one or two small curb marks on closer inspection. The wheels are shod in matching tyres with ample tread left. The brakes have also been checked and fitted with a new set of discs and pads at the front.
HISTORY FILE
This low mileage E39 was first registered in Japan in January 2003. Having only very recently landed in the country (with all taxes and duties paid on arrival) the car remains in excellent rust-free condition throughout, especially to the underside.
Since arriving in the UK the car has been freshly serviced and inspected by our trusted classic car specialists. A new battery was fitted and the front discs and pads were also replaced. The car was then MOT'd with no advisories present on the certificate. UK registration is currently underway.
