CONVERSION DESCRIPTION

First converted in 2019 and recently refurbished, the van has had some amazing adventures and has been really loved and cared for. Will be so sad to sell but I’m moving away.

Built to be fully off grid, it’s thoroughly insulated with vapour barrier, celotex insulation boards and mineral wool. It can stay cool in the summer, and lovely and cosy in the autumn and winter with the woodburner going. Fiamma vent and two openeable windows great to keep air flow and let lots of light in.

Everything in the van is custom made. It is paneled throughout with high quality cladding, the kitchen and fold out table are made of oak, the window frames of cherry and the rest of plywood – all of these treated with high quality varnish and oils. All of the paints are good quality and hard wearing and the kitchen tiles are handmade in Japan. The table that folds out from the kitchen is useful for meals or working and can sit 3 to 4 people around it. There is plenty of storage throughout the van, including two very deep cupboards above the woodburner and kitchen area, a space in between these two cupboards separated by a shelf, various draws in the kitchen, a shelf underneath the sink, two cupboards on either side of the bookshelf and a huge open space under the sofa/bed area.

There are two cast iron gas hobs and a propane gas bottle accessible from the cupboard directly underneath the hob, as well as a gas oven. There is a hand pump tap connected to two 25l fresh and wastewater bottles, and a fridge underneath the bed.

The electrics are powered by a solar panel situated on the roof and powers the 3 lights, the USB port, the fridge and the spark for the oven. There is also a 240v inverter for kitchen appliances, speakers, charging laptops etc. The solar panel is big enough to draw enough energy even on cloudy days.

The sofa/bed is super comfy and upholstered with a foam mattress and removable and washable cushion covers. There’s enough space for three to hang out easily, four at a squeeze. The sofa area converts to a bed by extending the plywood below. It has two metal bars underneath that hold it in position. It´s an easy system to use.

This layout means that it is more open plan which makes it feel airy and spacious compared to other builds, and allows for lots of options of how to use the space throughout the day.

The van also comes with a bike rack that is fitted to the back door and can carry up to 2 bikes.

The engine is in good condition and runs and drives wonderfully. The van can reach a good speed on the motorway. I bought the van in Spain and because of the dry climate there is no rust despite its age.

It has been an amazing home to travel around with, and is completely ready to drive off in – with a newly filled cooking gas bottle and chopped firewood.
