This lot will be auctioned via Classic Car Auctions, The Practical Classics Classic Car and Restoration Show Sale 2023 on Saturday the 25th of March - Sunday the 26th of March, NEC, Birmingham, B40 1NT. , The DE27 was positioned between the DB18 and the DE36 straight-eight and was a marriage of the 'twenty-seven' engine and the short-wheelbase DE chassis,The 'twenty-seven', 4.1-Litre straight-six engine was developed for use in the Daimler Armoured Car and was later used in the DE27, the DC27 ambulance and the DH27 hire limousine,The DE models, were made primarily for Government and Royalty and the late Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip used them regularly here and overseas, including their African tour in 1947,This is one of only 118 DE27s ever made with just 38 believed to be remaining in the UK,Showing just two previous keepers and recently subject to a full front interior retrim
